IT Audits
Technology, especially IT, is now an integral part of every business and is used by dealers and franchises to monitor their businesses. Most business people have a basic knowledge of computers, computer systems and software packages but it is rarely comprehensive enough to enable them to investigate the integrity of the systems used. It is for this reason that Trevor Jones have developed an IT audit programme specific to dealer business management systems and software packages.
We are able to review your systems from data input, access controls, external security, to business management report output to ensure that the system has integrity, is accurate and produces information relevant to the management of the business. Typically a Trevor Jones IT professional, who has been accountancy trained, will spend a day on site reviewing all areas of the IT environment, including their interface with third party IT systems. He will then prepare a report highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the current system and make recommendations for improvement.
Where weaknesses are identified we are also able to assist with training of personnel and the procurement of enhanced systems, where required. An additional benefit of using Trevor Jones is that all our professionals are accountancy trained. This gives them the ability to spot issues within the system by looking at an accounting output document and then being able to identify what has caused the issue within the system.
