Dealership Development
As a result of the current economic climate, it is very easy to become so involved in the day-to-day fire fighting that the strategic direction of the dealership is overlooked. The tactical decisions tend to take priority, as the dealer principal must address each issue as it arises, solve the problem and move onto the next. However, the overall direction of the company should not be forgotten, to ensure the long-term viability and profitability of the dealership.
It is to this end that Trevor Jones, in conjunction with the franchises, performs long-term dealership development programmes. The emphasis is on the medium to long-term direction of the business and how the dealership should position itself to maximise its market share, profitability and the performance of its personnel.
The Dealership Development sessions are conducted on a 1 to 1 basis between the dealer principal and a member of senior management from Trevor Jones - usually at an off site location to avoid the distractions of the dealership. We will look at the financial aspects of the business, the sales generating routes to market and the possibilities for growth within the market. We will also consider the infrastructure operating within the business and how the systems, processes and people can be enhanced to deliver more and stimulate growth.
The Trevor Jones Management Team will suggest ideas gained from experience developed over 30 years of working solely in the motor trade in the UK, Ireland, Europe and the USA. We bring an external perspective to your current operation and help you develop ideas and strategies for the future. It is for this reason that we are trusted by many banks, franchises and finance companies to prepare reports which give a real insight into the individual dealer and the UK motor trade as a whole.
