Corporation Tax

Personal tax
The HMR&C is placing more and more responsibility for calculating income tax liability on the individual. They have invested millions of pounds in creating and promoting a Self Assessment system which is both complicated and time consuming. Self assessment tax returns can be difficult to complete and the onus is on the individual to ensure that they are complete, accurate and submitted by the appropriate deadlines.

The HMR&C has imposed hefty fines on individuals who are late submitting their income tax returns and on those who get it wrong. Most individuals are unaware of how to correct any mistakes.

The Trevor Jones Tax Department has a long history of assisting clients with the calculation and submission of their tax returns. We will review all available financial information and use it to minimise the tax liability of the individual and the family based on current legislation. Our people have always brought individual solutions to individual questions. We are also able to assist with the correction of errors to previous tax returns and communicate with our contacts at the HMR&C to minimise any penalties which may be imposed.

Company car tax
As a result of the rules relating to company car tax, it is beneficial to agree with the HMR&C not only the average list price for cars used by your employees but also the CO2 emissions. In our experience the results of negotiations have been very favourable and the agreements offer certainty for both you and your employees as to the tax liability for the year.

Statutory records
Many of our clients choose to leave the responsibility for the maintenance of their statutory books to us. This helps to relieve some of the administrative burden on the company and allows the dealer principal to focus on the strategic decisions required in the management of the company.

Payroll
Trevor Jones have established a payroll service to enable clients to outsource their payroll. This is beneficial due to the complexities of the PAYE system and the number of benefits available to employees through tax credits. We also have detailed P11D knowledge to ensure that your employees are not left exposed as a result of benefits in kind received.

We will also act as a liaison between the HMR&C and the company, and coordinate any PAYE inspection visits. The service significantly reduces the management time associated with payroll and, most of all, gives you ‘peace of mind’.
